Northern Centre of Photography

As the packing up of the NCP commenced in the summer of 2021 for the move to a new home, I took the opportunity to spend a little time in the building. I often like to focus my attention on areas which would otherwise be overlooked. I find the fabric of a building equally as interesting as the activities which take place within and the NCP is a perfect example.

The absence of colour is often very effective in these circumstances as it allows a different language to be used. Shape, texture and form can be used in conjunction with light and shadow to develop an understanding of the place where so much learning has taken place and so much thoughtful and meaningful work has been produced over the years.
