Truths & Fictions
When a worldwide catastrophe like COVID-19 happens, it only takes a short time to establish that everyone, the whole world over, is in it together. People from every walk of life, gender, political viewpoint and socioeconomic grouping are affected by the measures taken to control the spread of this devastating virus and mitigate further damage to life as we know it.
“A new normal” during the pandemic, means that social distancing and lockdowns for entire populations. Combined with drastic economic measures not seen since World War 2, these measures were put in place and vigorously policed to help hundreds of millions, if not billions of people, avoid infection of themselves and their families.
Beyond this pandemic it should be a lesson for the masses – rich and poor, famous or ordinary , good and bad, that there is little separating us as human beings – we all have the same basic needs and desires and we all have the same fears and insecurities. Coronavirus is a leveller of status and ego and the masses are in fear.
A few are not.
